How to creatively engage your world
Fulfilling your
place in the world is a creative endeavor….
Where you constantly bring forth creative actions and solutions.
This means exercising creativity should be a regular part of your everyday life.
Which makes complete sense, since He who made us in His image is Himself a creator!
As we realize this, it’s important
to see God's hand in the creative process we’re to engage every day.
In fact, we must see this if we’re to be as creatively effective as our Creator intends us to be.
In her book The Mind of the Maker Dorothy Sayers tells how all our creative works (or acts) are threefold, matching our Triune God.
First, there is the Creative Idea where we see the end from the beginning, which is the image of the Father.
Next there is Creative Energy (or activity), where the idea is worked out with sweat and passion imaging the Son.
And then comes Creative Power, where a work is unleashed and brings its impact on souls in a manner like the indwelling Spirit.
So in the creative process, the
Father, Son and Holy Spirit all have a place.
Now you may not think of yourself as a creative person.
But God has wired you to creatively engage the world for the sake of His kingdom.
And you can express this as you…
See ideas as coming from the Father…
Follow the Son in implementing them…
And trust the Spirit to use what you do for good.
