The secret to a simpler life

Life has been complicated ever since the Fall of mankind.

But things seem more complex today than ever.

The speed of change, the growing number of people, and the torrent of information we face can make managing everyday life overwhelming.

Then add concerns about the future and it makes it all worse!

Is there a way to simplify our existence? So we can better accomplish our purpose from God?

Surely there's no way to turn back the clock to what we may perceive as simpler times.

But there are biblical principles that can help keep our focus in the right place.

Consider the Apostle Paul.

His life was surely complicated...

Traveling the Mediterranean world... dealing with hostile authorities... caring for struggling churches, etc., were a constant source of stress.

Yet the load never crushed him.

His dependence on Christ... and focus on the mission God gave him... had a way of bringing constant renewal and energy.

Which helped keep his life simple... and effective.

Our own day--filled with its distractions and worries--makes this a secret worth remembering and applying.

So if all the noise of our time has you perplexed...

Take time to pause, and zero in on what God has really called you to do in dependence on Him.

It will simplify things.

It'll make you more effective too.
