Way back in the
first century there was a believer known as Ignatius of Antioch.
He was a disciple of the Apostle John and became regarded as one of the Early Church Fathers.
Ignatius said a lot of wise things.
One of my favorite is:
“Few souls understand what God would accomplish in them if they were to abandon
themselves unreservedly to Him and if they were to allow His grace to mold them accordingly.”
What a wonderful statement on how to make the most of our lives!
We are constantly tempted to control the outcome of our days.
But this leads to lives of small vision and little faith.
Yet as we abandon
ourselves to the Lord and allow His grace to shape us, He causes our lives to have their most glorious effect.
This is the point Jesus was making when He said:
“For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it" (Mt. 16:25).
Making the most of your days starts here...
It begins with abandoning your life to Jesus and following wherever He leads you.
