has started a new training module in our ministry to men!
It's about helping men know how to make wise choices, and it's based on the book of Proverbs.
We hope to make this material widely available later.
Until then, I plan on sharing snippets now and then via these daily emails.
A good place to
start with this is by understanding what the book of Proverbs is really about.
When people think of the book of Proverbs, they often see it as a collection insightful sayings.
The book is definitely that. But it's also much more.
You see...
Most of Proverbs is written by King Solomon.
And it's written to his son, so he would learn how to govern himself and become equipped to rule a kingdom.
This makes Proverbs a manual for the training of princes.
Now you may never envision yourself ruling over a kingdom as a civil ruler would...
But as part of God's kingdom, you are called to rule in all the
different aspects of your life.
At the heart of this is ruling yourself well.
And this begins by making good choices.
Seeing yourself as a prince (or princess) is something you may never have thought of.
But it's surely a legitimate way to think of yourself...
Because as a child of the King, He has an inheritance for you in His kingdom.
And this makes learning how to rule ourselves and whatever He entrusts to us well an important part of life.
May God help us make 2023 a year of making wiser choices.
