In yesterday's
message I mentioned...
Just as honesty was necessary for Jesus to fulfill His mission, so is it necessary for you to fulfill yours.
Well today I want to elaborate on the part about you having a mission to fulfill...
I don't have any hard data to give you, but my sense is that few people live with a compelling mission.
For many, I suspect, life is consumed with concerns about survival.
And for others who have their needs covered, it's about achieving personal goals, minimizing pain and maximizing
pleasure.
And, surely there are those who in some way want to "glorify God."
But even here... how do we best glorify Him?
I contend it is by faithfully fulling the purpose God has for you.
And this starts by embracing the truth that...
If your faith is in Christ, God intends for YOU to play a part in bringing His redemption to the world -- with YOUR gifts in YOUR circumstances.
In fact...
He has
already planned and designed the things He wants you doing to contribute to the growth of His kingdom.
It doesn't matter if you're a teenager or in your eighties... laid up with health problems or busy
in the corporate world...
God has a mission for you!
"For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them" (Eph. 2:10).
What remains is to find out what these 'good works' are that God has for us -- and do them.
And
this we discover as we...
Follow Jesus wherever we are in life...
Pay attention to what's going on around us...
And bring our gifts to bear where the Lord is leading.
Always remember...
Because Jesus completed His mission, you have a mission too.
"He who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit..." (Jn.15:5).
