The week between Christmas and New Year's is one of the best weeks of the year.

That's because...

The slower pace gives time to pause, reflect and plan before plunging into the next year.

I hope you take time to do this.

It's important.

Here's why...

In His Parable of the Talents (Mt. 25), Jesus tells us an evaluation day is coming...

On that day we'll each be evaluated for the way we've managed all God has entrusted to us to advance His kingdom.

The word 'talent' in the parable literally refers to a measure of money, like silver.

But the point of the parable is really broader and includes...

- Time (the minutes, hours, days, weeks that make up our lives)

- Talents (our unique gifts, abilities and opportunities)

- Treasure (our money, investments, physical resources)

So the big take away is...

God has distributed to each of us different measures of time, talents and treasure.

He commissions us to use these resources to further His work in the world--to get dominion!

And a day of reckoning lies ahead for every one of us...

To given an account of how good a stewards or managers we've been for His kingdom.

This may seem scary.

But let it give you hope...

God gives you these days to think and make changes so your life can have greater impact for His kingdom in 2023.
