I'm sure you've
seen it before.
They show it in a lot of war movies.
On the day of the big battle...
The
generals get up early.
And while they let the troops get their last bit of sleep, the generals finalize their strategy... and pray.
You may find it hard to relate because you're not the commander of an army.
But surely...
You have battles to fight and ground to take at your place in God's
kingdom!
Which makes the case for getting up early, strategizing, and praying.
Jesus also gave us this as His example (Mark 1:35).
And I suspect it prepared Him for whatever any day would bring.
As His followers, there's something to learn from the way our Lord managed His early mornings.
So as you plan your wakeup time...
Leave enough margin in your schedule.
Not just for coffee...
Or exercise...
Or scrolling the Interweb...
But to meet with King Jesus for planning and prayer.
