In the beginning,
God gave mankind dominion over all creation (Gen. 1:28).
This did not include men subduing other men.
Yet when sin entered the world, this arrangement went kerflooey.
And the Dominion Mandate became corrupted.
Man himself came under the dominion of sin and death (Rom.6:8-14).
And men acquired a lust to rule over others...
Leading to all kinds of human oppression and even murder (Gen.4:3-8).
But through the seed of the woman, God set in motion a plan to restore His good design (Gen.3:15).
And with Christ's death and resurrection, the power of sin and death has been broken.
And all who trust Him have been delivered from the power of darkness... and transferred to His kingdom of love (Col.1:13).
Jesus now has dominion over all (Heb.10:12,13).
And we have been raised with Him and share in His rule (Eph.1:20-23).
Which puts us in a position to extend His kingdom...
... through our families, businesses, churches, communities and progeny.
In this restored order...
There's no
place for getting others to do our own selfish bidding...
But only to encourage, lead, equip and work alongside others...
In our common pursuit of dominion under our everlasting Father and King.
