In a world where
up is down... good is bad... and right is wrong, the need for wisdom seems greater than ever.
But where do we find it?
A healthy fear of God is the place to start...
"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom" (Pr. 9:10).
But we also need to ask Him for it.
When Solomon became king, one of the first things he did was ask God for wisdom... and He rewarded him (1 Kgs. 3:9).
The Apostle James encourages us to ask as well when he writes:
"But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him" (Jas. 1:5).
And we
can't forget the lady of wisdom in Proverbs who urges us to come and listen to her...
So she would pour out her wisdom on us (Pr.1:20-23).
Navigating life's perplexities is hard.
But you are not on your own.
God is ready and willing to guide and direct.
We just need to ask.
And when we do with a believing heart, it puts us in a much better place...
... to rule, protect, develop and lift up all He puts before
us.
