"From Your
precepts I get understanding;
Therefore I hate every false way."
~ Ps.119:104
Back in the 80s there was a popular song called 'Land of Confusion.'
If that title fit back then it must apply a thousand times more so today, as we seem confused about everything--from gender to justice.
In the song there's a line that says, "Tell me why this is a land of confusion."
The Bible gives the answer to this...
From the Tower of Babel onward scripture reveals that when men seek to build a
civilization without God, confusion and disorder result.
Because when we rebel against Him, we are without an anchor... a standard... and light.
So the only way to deal with times of chaos and turmoil like ours is to return to the Lord... who is not a God of confusion but of peace.
And in turning to Him we must remember...
When people around us are muddled, it's not loving to leave them in their confusion.
Neither is it merciful or kind to go along with confused ideas and accept them as some new
kind of normal. Because ideas that bring confusion destroy.
What's needed is to serve and speak the truth in love while pointing others to the Lord, who alone gives the understanding we need
(Pr.2:6).
This is the world we live in
And these are the hands we're given
Use them and let's start trying
To make it a place worth living in
