Saying no to sin
and yes to Jesus is the only way to live.
Despite its great appeal, sin is always self-destructive.
We don't see it that way when sin tempts us and we yield to it -- because then it looks like the way to save us from our anxiety, boredom, fear or want of pleasure.
But the aftermath of sin always brings misery to the soul. Without fail.
Jesus, on the other hand -- despite appearing foolish to the world -- is always reconstructive.
We may not realize this because He does not show us the blueprints of
what He intends to do with us... and we have trouble trusting what our lives will look like if we follow Him.
Yet turning to Jesus will always build you up, making Him the best friend a sinner could ever
have.
You can count on this because He's already laid down His life for you.
So if you are confused, hurting, stressed out, feeling worthless and tired of wrestling with yourself... don't go to sin, go to Jesus.
As you do, He will remake you into something good and glorious and useful for His kingdom.
And
you'll like it... as His Spirit bears witness to your spirit He's recreating you to live just as He designed you.
"For whoever wants to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for My
sake will find it" (Mt.16:25).
