Over the past few
years we've been experiencing censorship like never before in our culture.
And the suppression of information and truth going on is disturbing!
Yet let's take heart...
Censorship has its limits!
During Jesus's triumphal entry into Jerusalem, the Pharisees attempted to censor the crowds who
were praising Him as their King.
Jesus responded to this attempt to suppress the people by saying:
"I tell you, if these become silent, the stones will cry out" (Lk.19:40).
With these words Jesus isn't saying rocks will literally give Him a shout out...
He is pointing out the reality that truth
cannot be suppressed indefinitely.
And in the long run those who bear God's image will recognize the truth... and be compelled to honor it with their lives.
Let this encourage you as information and ideas are suppressed in our time.
Don't get discouraged or fearful.
Continually treasure God's
ways in your heart. Abide in them, speak of them and praise Him for them.
Truth can't be suppressed forever.
The day will come when His reality will not be stifled any longer.
It will be out in the open for all to see and live by.
