To carry out your
current calling in life -- whatever it may be -- you need CONFIDENCE.
Yet confidence is an area where a lot of people struggle... especially in an unbelieving culture.
So how do you improve your confidence... so you can really go after what God has made you to do?
The answer is in the word itself...
'Confidence' literally means "with faith."
So if you want to grow in confidence, increase your exposure to the truths of God that build faith.
Truths like:
- The nations belong to Jesus as His inheritance (Ps.2:8).
- The earth is the
Lord's and everything in it (Ps.24:1).
- He's established His throne in the heavens and His sovereignty rules over all (Ps.103:19).
- He is with you always (Mt.28:20).
- Having begun a good work in you, He will complete it (Phil.1:6).
- God has designed certain good works for you to accomplish (Eph.2:10).
- You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you
(Phil.4:13).
- Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 Jn.4:4).
- He will never leave you nor forsake you (Heb.13:5).
These are just a few faith-building truths that immediately come to mind...
... there are many more!
And by meditating on them and acting on them you will gain the best kind of confidence of all... which is confidence in God.
Self-confidence is always vulnerable and variable, as it's subject to your feelings, abilities and accomplishments at any given time.
Hey, just not feeling well can kill your confidence.
But confidence in God is stable and sure, because He is unchanging and completely trustworthy.
So like I said... if you want to increase your confidence, increase your exposure to God's
truth.
"Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him" (Ps.2:12).
