God speaks to us
in different ways.
The primary way is through His Word, or what theologians call special revelation.
But He also speaks via His creation or what's considered natural revelation.
His speaking to us in this way includes the weather.
Yes, the weather.
If you don't think God speaks to us through the weather, consider this passage from the prophet Jeremiah...
It is he who made the earth by his power, who established the world by his wisdom, and by his understanding stretched out the heavens. When he utters his voice, there is a tumult of waters in the heavens, and he makes the mist rise from the ends of the earth. He makes lightning for the rain, and he brings forth the wind from his
storehouses (Jer.10:12-13).
Jeremiah gives us insight as to what God tells us through the weather...
Which is...
No matter how much we ignore God and seek to suppress what He has revealed about how we're to live, the truth remains...
Power, wisdom and understanding belong to Him.
The weather reminds us of this every day.
Sometimes it's with a sunkissed sky.
Other times it's through
the fury of a storm.
In any case, the fitting response to His voice in the weather is to listen to Him with humility, reverence and awe...
And put your hand to whatever He has given you to do with a fresh dependence on His mercy and grace.
