We don't tend to
remember to thank God for the gift of His Spirit.
But we sure should.
God gave us His Spirit so we can:
-
Have the direction and reminding of truth we need (Jn.14:26)
- Overcome the pull of our flesh and bear the fruit of a godly life (Gal. 5:16-24)
- And live not in fear... but in power, love and self-control (2 Tim. 1:7)
Because of these and other blessings of God's Spirit...
You are able to carry
out the calling God has given you--in any time and circumstance.
Without the Spirit, you can't.
So give thanks for the Holy Spirit.
And the best way to do this is to...
Look to Him in the midst of every anxious moment, doubt, trial and temptation.
"For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline" (2 Tim. 1:7).
