Made for Dominion has started having monthly prayer meetings for men in our area.

We've nicknamed them our 'battering ram meetings.'

It's my hope men in other communities will hold such gatherings as well.

Have you ever seen a battering ram?

In ancient times a battering ram was typically a large beam used to batter down the gates of a stronghold under siege.

Today police and firemen sometimes use a battering ram to bust down a door or wall.

Well, God has His own battering ram for overcoming fierce resistance and accomplishing His redemptive agenda -- it's called prayer.

Jesus promised us the 'gates of hell' will not prevail against the advance of His people, the Church (Math. 16:18).

And we've been given various weapons to contend with the spiritual forces of wickedness in our own day... including truth, the gospel and faith.

But among this arsenal the most versatile and powerful is prayer.

Prayer changes circumstances... it changes people... and it changes us... in the way that's needed to move God's kingdom forward.

At a time when so many are demoralized, feeling defeated, and have even laid down their weapons...

Let us make a habit of taking up God's battering ram... 

And let's take our shots at the gates of hell.
