Too often
Christians reduce the gospel to a process of sin management.
So we tend to focus on how to be forgiven and get to heaven.
These are vital areas, for sure -- and we each must come to terms with them.
But the gospel is about more than managing our sin problem on the way to eternity.
It goes beyond that,
making it possible for us to discover...
... how to walk with God...
... experience His transforming power...
... and apply the realities of His kingdom in the here and now.
To make the gospel all about sin and its remedy is to abridge the good news...
Because what makes the good news really good is that...
... through Jesus God not only brings forgiveness, but is also restoring His original design for creation.
And, He makes all who are in Christ participants in the renewal He's bringing about.
We live in a time when we certainly need forgiveness and hope.
But we also need the transforming power that changes lives and cultures...
And only the gospel in its fulness can deliver that.
God has
transferred us from the domain of darkness to the kingdom of His beloved Son... so let us walk in the newness of life.

behold, new things have come (2 Cor.5:17).
