Few things are as
disturbing as bold sinners and timid saints.
But this is what we have plenty of in these days...
The ungodly shamelessly push their destructive agenda while believers cower in fear waiting for doomsday.
This ought not be.
Not only is it a poor witness to our needy world... it keeps us from being
the salt and light God intends for its benefit.
The only remedy is for God's people to recover a godly confidence that befits the forefathers of the faith -- like Noah, Moses, Joshua, David, Paul, Peter,
John, and Jesus Himself.
And the only way to get there is by returning to God and trusting what He says.
Scripture is full of truths that foster confidence in those who believe...
It tells us...
... God has taken away our condemnation (Rom.8:1).
... He makes foolish the wisdom of the world (1 Cor.3:19).
... He is no respecter of persons (Acts 10:34).
... It is better to put our trust in the Lord than in man
(Ps.118:8).
... We will never be ashamed for putting our confidence in God (Rom.10:11).
... He is the one who makes known to us the path of life (Ps.16:11).
... And God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, love and self-control (2 Tim.1:7).
Store these treasures in your heart and bring them out
in every uneasy circumstance.
"Do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward (Heb.10:35).
