It's good to
remember the blessings any of us enjoy are -- from a human standpoint -- the result of someone else's faithfulness.
In other words...
Our lives are a whole lot better and more advanced because others have been faithful to pray, work, sacrifice, be generous, etc.
None of us accomplishes anything by ourselves.
We all stand on the shoulders of those who have gone before us.
So be thankful for all the faithful parents, grandparents, visionaries, pioneers, and ordinary saints who soldiered on at their post
to advance God's kingdom and your good -- whether you know who they are or not.
And remember...
While these saints may have gone on to receive their rest and reward, we're called to labor on and make our contribution to this generation as long as we have breath.
This is how we show the grace of God is active in our lives.
As one author put it...
Though Jesus has finished His work, we have not finished ours.
This is the gist of what some Christians have been inspired by for centuries in observing November 1st as All Saints Day.
