Cynicism believes:
- things are destined to get worse
- it's not worth the effort
- the game is over
Whereas hope believes:
- Jesus is Lord over every detail
- What we do matters
- The story God is writing isn't done
Whether cynicism or hope prevails in you today hinges on your focus...
Focus on the corruption and failings of people and cynicism wins.
But keep the eyes of your heart on God's goodness, mercy, power and justice, and hope will carry you through to fulfill the unique purpose He has for you.
"Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit" (Rom.15:13).
