Are you tired of
feeling embattled? Or weary from trying to overcome problems on your own?
Then consider applying this vital principle from General Joshua...
At the end of his days Joshua gave what's known as his farewell address (Josh.23).
In this discourse Joshua reviewed the great things God had done for Israel...
And he
revealed what I call the "Let God do the fighting for you principle."
The idea of this principle is simple:
In all your battles, do not rely on your own understanding or chase after the ways of the world, but instead focus on loving and obeying God.
Joshua applied this principle faithfully with remarkable success.
Throughout His life He found by clinging to God, the Lord gave Him both brilliant strategies and glorious victories... even driving out great nations -- because it was the Lord who was doing the fighting for him.
Inspiring isn't it?
Well let yourself be heartened further...
The "Let God do the fighting for you principle" still applies today...
Because...
Jesus -- the greater Joshua -- employed this very principle as He lived in constant dependence on His Father.
And we're able to put this into practice ourselves as we abide in Christ.
So if you're in a stressful tangle over some issue or encounter or obligation, put the "Let God do the fighting for your principle" to work for you today.
Don't fret or fear, but cling and obey...
And watch what God does to honor His
ways and advance His kingdom through you.
"For the Lord your God is He who fights for you..." (Josh.23:10).
