Readers sometimes
wonder...
How does Jesus fit into this dominion theme?
Good question!
In short, Jesus is the
ultimate dominion man.
Adam, the original dominion man, failed in His calling because he did not trust the goodness and truthfulness of God.
Yet Jesus came as... what theologians call... the second Adam...
And unlike the first Adam, Jesus fully trusted His Father.
And in so doing, He fulfilled
His mission perfectly -- which was to bring redemption to the world.
And because of this, Jesus also put the Dominion Mandate back on track for all humanity.
The relevance to you in this is...
Apart from Christ, you cannot fulfill the purpose God has for you.
You can only remain stuck in union with
the first Adam.
But in Jesus... as a forgiven, new creature in Christ, you can.
And as you abide in Him, you not only bear the fruit of His character, you also accomplish what He intends for you in this world.
"This is a trustworthy saying: If
we died with Him, we will also live with Him; if we endure, we will also reign with Him..." (2 Tim.2:12-13).
