A phenomenon
called "quiet quitters" is being discussed in the media.
Maybe you've heard of it.
If you haven't, quiet quitters are those who stay on their job but are less engaged and will no longer go 'above and beyond' what their normal work responsibilities require.
It's reported that half of U.S. workers are quiet quitters, and the majority of these are younger workers.
The quiet quitters phenomenon may just mean a lot of workers have decided to set boundaries so they have time and energy for other responsibilities and pursuits.
This isn't a bad thing, as any life ought to have balance.
But the quiet quitters trend likely also reflects a lower sense of calling, loyalty and work ethic in our world
today...
... which obviously is a big concern when it comes to productivity... and even purpose in life.
I don't know everything about this, and am interested in learning more.
Yet from what I do know, I think it's safe to say those with a biblical, dominion orientation toward life are not quiet quitters.
They do appreciate boundaries... because they have multiple domains to manage... and they realize there is a time for everything under the sun...
But they also know God has put them on the planet
to contribute and accomplish something... which will often require going "above and beyond."
They take seriously as well the biblical admonition to do our work heartily unto the Lord (Col.3:23-24).
"Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might..." (Ecc.9:10).
