I don't know anyone who doesn't have at least a few things in life they wish they would have done differently.
But the big question is: what do you do with your regrets?
The Apostle Paul serves as a reliable guide.
Paul certainly had a some history to regret...
Though extremely well educated, he had serious blind spots...
... leading him to be misguided in his zeal and a persecutor of Christians.
But by God's grace, Paul had his eyes opened, saw the error of his ways and amended them...
... and ultimately became one of the most influential believers in the history of Christianity.
What's noteworthy about Paul is that he didn't wallow in the failures of his past.
We know he remembered his failings... because he mentioned them.
But he was so secure in the forgiveness he received through the gospel, he was not held back by any regrets...
And his focus was on the future... forgetting what was behind him while pressing forward to what was ahead (Phil.3:13).
In this Paul gives us a model for handling our own regrets.
You can't redo the past.
But you can rest in God's forgiveness and trust in His providence.
And you can take what you've learned into all you do in the future for the glory of God.
You can do today differently because of what you know now.
