I saw an account recently about an investigative reporter who kept having his stories censored because the newspaper he worked for wouldn't publish the truth.
Eventually the reporter decided to move on and work on his own.
Making this decision was tough, until he saw the stark reality...
His newspaper had been bought off -- but he had been bought by Christ.
Once the reporter saw this contrast, deciding what to do became easier.
He knew he couldn't go along with the corruption, so he stepped out in faith in a new direction.
The principle of knowing you've been purchased with the blood of Christ simplifies many decisions in life -- from private temptations to public vocational choices.
And in a culture where ethical compromises and ambiguities abound, there are plenty of opportunities to apply it.
