It appears the U.S. Supreme Court will overturn its infamous Roe v. Wade ruling of 1973.
The decision is not final, but if this reversal takes place it would leave it to the states to establish laws regarding abortion.
This is incredibly good news.
I must confess though, when I first heard it I didn't believe it.
I never imagined Roe v. Wade would be overturned under the current administration...
And since legalized abortion has existed for so many years -- and the culture seems so degraded -- I wondered if we'd ever see it banned in our lifetime.
But as I reflected on this, I realized how cynicism had infected my own heart... and that my own unbelief was keeping me from seeing what God could do.
Because the truth is... there are thousands of people who -- for decades -- have been praying and laboring for the unborn to receive legal protection.
And God -- who hears our cries -- is merciful and just and always at work.
So we shouldn't be surprised He could and would bring about such a turnaround.
He is a God of great reversals... who brings resurrections out of seemingly lost causes.
And this is something we all need to remember... wherever cynicism may dampen our hope.
Are you finding it hard to believe anything can change about a situation you're facing right now?
Indeed, with man what we need and hope for the most may appear impossible.
But with God all things are possible.
For nothing will be impossible with God (Lk.1:37).
