This may come as a surprise, but inner peace is not the goal of the Christian life.

Peace is a vital, soul-soothing blessing God gives those who sincerely trust Jesus as the one who has overcome the world...

But the goal of the Christian life is to seek His kingdom and righteousness in everything we do.

This is the priority God has given His people to pursue.

Jesus made this plain.

"But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you" (Mt.6:33).
