It's tempting to assume when you're facing trials that God isn't doing anything constructive.
But God is always at work for the good of His people, and the story of Joseph reveals this beautifully (Gen.37-50).
Though sold into slavery by his brothers, falsely accused and imprisoned, God stayed with Joseph and remained active in his life for good.
Something especially remarkable about this is how -- despite his hardships and injustices -- Joseph got a lot of dominion in his various positions...
... first as a servant in his master's quarters, then as a leader of prisoners, and ultimately as the prime minister of Egypt.
This was possible because God was involved in the hard providences of Joseph's life...
... and Joseph responded to his tough circumstances with an obedient rather than a complaining heart.
When you face your own hardships, be mindful God's providence is at work in your life too.
And stay faithful where God has you... trusting that He's fulfilling His purpose through you in ways you probably don't understand.
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose (Rom.8:28).
