Today's guest post comes from Mark Mehling, who was 36 when God called Him. Mark spent months researching to know why he believed what the Bible taught, it's reliability, how to study it, and to fulfill 1 Peter 3:15. Hope you enjoy the perspective he shares here.
"I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. The man who plants and the man who waters have one purpose, and each will be rewarded according to his own labor" (1 Cor.3:6-8)."
Taking dominion can be overwhelming.
I remember as a new Christian witnessing made me feel like a failure. No one fell to their knees in repentance.
The pressure was incredible.
But am I failing my dominion responsibility if unbelievers don’t convert on my doorstep?
Thankfully, God opened my eyes to see my role in dominion wasn’t to be Him.
I'm charged, like a farmer, to plant and water--looking to God to change hearts.
Knowing this takes the pressure off.
I plant seeds in faith and water those seeds others have planted.
That’s really it. Just do the work assigned and God gives the increase.
We all have assignments that God gives us (Epn.2:10).
So there’s no longer any ‘results’ pressure, especially in sharing your faith.
Plant seeds wherever you go, learning and practicing all the ways to plant.
Become an ‘expert waterer’ who can recognize the time and amount.
But then let God show you His miraculous power over all His dominion!
By His grace,
Mark Mehling
