The Spirit of God is essential to fulfilling our unique callings in His kingdom.
We cannot accomplish the good works He has ordained for us by our strength, abilities or resources...
... we must rely on the mighty power of His Spirit!
As the Lord told Zerubbabel during the rebuilding of the temple...
"Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the LORD of hosts" (Zech.4:6).
If we grieve or quench the Spirit by disbelieving, sinning or fearing men, we stifle the work God seeks to do through us.
But if we walk in the Spirit by trusting and obeying Him, God's gifts become unleashed for accomplishing His good purpose in the world He's entrusted to our care.
In a day when so many are deadened by following the deceitfulness of the flesh and the lies of our culture, let us do life differently.
Let us be filled with the Spirit!
Father, in keeping with your mercy, renew and enliven us by your Spirit, so we can carry out whatever work you have for us with the grace, conviction and creativity that only comes from You.
