I have been reading Romans 1 every day of PRIDE month.
It's a great way to get a biblical perspective on WHY America is in a moral free fall and WHAT God's people should do about it.
First, WHY has our land become so degenerate?
Like the Roman world of the Apostle Paul's day, America has become a nation that suppresses the truth of God.
This is not to say there are not faithful people in the country -- there are many...
... but we have allowed the elite, the rulers, the institutions -- including governing bodies, courts, schools, media, etc. -- to have no place for the God of the Bible.
As a consequence, God has turned us to our own ways...
... which has led to perversions once considered unspeakable and even criminal being paraded and celebrated in the streets.
Second, WHAT are God's people to do?
As Paul faced the depravities of the first century, he had a very simple strategy:
He met those who were shameless in their ungodliness with an unashamed commitment to the gospel.
Paul knew that only the righteousness of God revealed in the gospel has the power to save lives and transform civilizations.
As American culture becomes more brazen in its rejection of God's norms, a bolder allegiance to Christ's Lordship over all is definitely in order for us now.
The bad news is... the reprobate activities we are seeing today -- along with our political and economic decline -- reveal that divine chastisement has already begun.
But the good news is... whatever comes of America, God's kingdom will not fail... and He will always honor those who honor Him.
"... be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord (1 Cor.15:58).
