The 4th century theologian St. Augustine once said "I believe in order to understand."
With these words he identified the key to better understanding the world in which we live.
Without faith, the world -- and all that happens in it -- is without meaning. It's just randomness and chaos.
But when we believe what God has revealed about the glory of creation... the reality of sin... and the work of Christ's redemption, we're able to make better sense of it.
And what's really encouraging...
The more we believe God's Word as our starting point for interpreting life, the more our understanding increases... as does our hope.
Lord, increase our faith.
The unfolding of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple (Ps.119:130).
