Did you know that after sending out the twelve disciples, Jesus also sent out another seventy (Lk.10)?
These seventy had the same authority and mission as the original twelve.
They also were prepared for persecution and told to trust God to lead and provide for them.
Yet, here's something really interesting about this group of disciples...
They did not have the same kind of personal training and time with Jesus the Apostles had...
And also... we don't know who they were! They are anonymous to us.
Yet, this group of nameless men faithfully used the power and mission God gave them to extend His reign on the earth.
And the fact the Father used these unknown, childlike followers as He did made Jesus rejoice (Lk.10:21ff)!
Today, that group of seventy has expanded exponentially to the millions.
The names of the vast majority will never be recorded anywhere for their faithfulness.
But the Lord knows who they are.
And the fact the Spirit is still using ordinary, unknown people to further His kingdom makes Him very happy.
