I remember one of the most awkward parts about high school was lunchtime.
After going through the cafeteria line you'd hold your plastic tray and look for a place to sit down...
... and you'd wonder, "Should I go sit with the people here, or there, or maybe those over there.
This could make you anxious... since with all the cliques in high school, you couldn't always be sure if someone wanted you to eat with them.
Because...
Eating with someone communicates "I want to do life with you"...
... and in high school you're gonna encounter people who don't want to do life with you.
Well Jesus takes all that away.
With Him, there are no cliques.
Instead, there is being a part of His people through faith...
... and you actually become a brother to Him (Heb.2:11).
Plus, He wants to do life with you!
The sacrament known as the Lord's Supper confirms this.
As does the well-known verse:
"Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me" (Rev.3:20).
Most think of this as an evangelism verse and use it to invite others to come to Christ.
But it's really much more.
It's an expression of the Lord's desire to be intimately involved in your life... every day.
All you need to do is give Him access.
So how about doing that today?
Let Him in on whatever you've got going...
He wants to partner with you in it...
... to lead, empower, and bless you -- as well as use you in the lives of others for good.
