Let me tell you a few things about my friend Bob.
First off, Bob is the most generous person I know.
Bob has been rescuing individuals and building up organizations for years through his generosity.
And, because he thinks in terms of investing in God's kingdom, I have no doubt he's storing up a mass of treasure in heaven.
Second, Bob's life is incredibly fruitful.
Part of this comes from his tireless work ethic.
But even more, Bob knows how to cultivate others and make them as fruitful as they can be.
In a 'me first' world, this gift of his really stands out.
Finally, Bob operates out of love, in complete dependence on the Father.
You see, it's one thing to give away money, work hard and make the most of your gifts...
But you can do all these things and be a noisy gong or clanging symbol.
Well that's not Bob. Everything he does is imbued with a love for God and people.
Now when I think about my friend Bob, I see a guy who's due to get a promotion and a raise when the kingdom of God comes in its fulness.
I'm confident of this because in the parable of the talents (Mt.25:14-30) Jesus explains how those who steward their lives well will be rewarded.
And the great thing about this is how it applies to everyone.
So if you'd be interested in a promotion... that suits who God made you to be perfectly... and lasts on into eternity...
... then make the most of your time, talents and treasure for God's kingdom... today, tomorrow, and the days that follow.
