Responding to God's call on your life involves a willingness to do hard things.
Jesus demonstrated this better than anyone.
Fulfilling His mission to bring redemption to the world meant embracing difficulties.
Including:
- Humbling Himself from His position as the Son of God to take on human flesh
- Enduring constant opposition from prideful sinners
- Entering Jerusalem knowing the suffering that awaited Him
- Praying in agony while burdened by the soon to come separation from His Father
- And experiencing the horrors of the crucifixion
Tough stuff.
Yet Jesus suffered all these things, fully aware of what He was doing...
He knew He was fulfilling His unique place in the Father's plan of redemption...
And He was intent on seeing this mission through.
As those united to Him by faith, we share in the Father's redemptive plan...
We partake in the outworking of the renewal Jesus secured through His death and resurrection... wherever God calls us.
And as it was with Jesus, this involves a willingness to say... not my will but Yours be done.
"Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God" (Heb.12:2).
