A couple weeks ago Made for Dominion had its first ever men's conference.
My friend Randy Booth was our guest presenter and throughout the event he was sharing insights from God's Word worth more than silver and gold (Pr.16:16).
One of these came from the life of Abraham...
When God called Abraham, He promised the whole earth would be blessed through him (Gen.12:1-3).
Such a promise seems unfathomable for any man -- but God meant it...
... He really did intend to bless the world through this one guy.
And the way God directed Abraham to play his part in the fulfillment of this promise is noteworthy...
He told him to tend to his household... and in this way God would make good on what He said (Gen.18:19).
There's something encouraging in this for us... in our own time...
God is still at work fulfilling His promise to bless the the earth...
And He's doing so through those who are Abraham's offspring through faith in Christ (Gal.3:29)...
And, His primary method for accomplishing this is by way of faithful covenant households.
So at a time when many of God's people are at a loss as to what to do, adopting the motto of another Old Testament great is in order...
"...as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD" (Josh.24:15).
