People sometimes wonder why Adam is blamed for original sin when Eve was the first to eat the forbidden fruit.
The short answer is... as the head of the relationship Adam was ultimately responsible.
But more can be said...
As the keeper of the garden, Adam should have gone to war with the serpent and dispatched him by any means necessary.
But instead Adam was passive, stood by, becoming the first effeminate male... and we can trace original sin to his failure to protect.
In an age of effeminacy this is no small point.
As sons of Adam, every man, husband and father inherits a tendency to stand by and allow evil in his midst.
But men must resist this and rise up when there's a threat in their garden.
Jesus displays this better than anyone in all His encounters with the devil.
And faithful men need to learn from Him that living in a fallen world involves contending with evil.
