Petty disagreements. Petty offenses. Petty, unfounded fears...
... they're like weeds that choke out our fruitfulness for God's kingdom.
So we must take care to keep light matters from taking hold in our hearts...
... and allowing the frivolous to weigh us down in the race God has set before us.
But how?
Here are a few scriptural 'petticides' to help kill any trivial matter seeking to consume you...
1) Let love cover a multitude of sins (1 Pet.4:8)
2) Avoid vain speculations (2 Cor.10:5)
3) Trust God for your peace (Is.26:3)
4) Stay away from foolish controversies and quarrels (Tit.3:9)
5) Put on humility, gentleness and patience (Eph.4:2)
And always remember...
God has more important things for you to do than expending your treasured time and energy on trifles.
Lord, give us a vision so big there's no place for pettiness.
