What we tend to view as meaningless trials God intends as important tests.
Do you doubt that?
Consider all the kinds of testing God gave His people in scripture...
Job had a patience test when he suffered catastrophic loss and then had to endure his obtuse friends in the aftermath.
Daniel and his buddies had a faith test while trusting God in a blazing furnace.
Peter was given a love test when Jesus told him to feed His sheep.
Paul faced many endurance tests -- marked by danger, hardship and persecution -- on his missionary journeys.
Moses had his share of humility tests as he was constantly criticized and questioned over his leadership.
Abraham encountered an excruciating test of sacrifice when told to offer his son to the Lord.
And even Jesus was given an obedience test when he had to choose whether he would drink the cup His father had given him and become obedient to the point of death.
So keep in mind...
Tests are a regular part of following the Lord...
... as they give you the opportunity to reveal your integrity and gain strength for serving the purpose God has for you.
In fact, I think it's fair to say... not just trials, but everything is a test of character.
And that means you will surely have a test or two today!
'The crucible is for silver, and the furnace is for gold, and the LORD tests hearts' (Pr.17:3).
