"For the Lord is a God of justice" (Is.30:18).
God has been concerned about justice long before any of us, even going back before the day Cain killed Abel.
This is why He:
- Gave us standards of justice like those found in the Ten Commandments
- Requires sufficient evidence before convicting anyone of guilt
- And insists witnesses speak the truth rather than spin false narratives based on lies
Justice matters to God so much it's fair to call Him the first - and purist - social justice warrior -- who proved His commitment to justice is so fierce that He gave up His only Son.
On this basis, any sincere demand for justice must take God and His Word into account.
And all cries for justice should lead us to Him.
Anything less will keep us stuck in a cycle of political power plays.
