An old teaching tool called the Westminster Shorter Catechism asks the question, “What is the chief end of man?”
Many know the answer to be: “Man’s chief end is to glorify God, and to enjoy him forever.”
You can hardly find a better statement on the purpose of life.
It's only shortcoming is it's a little abstract in that it tells 'what' we're supposed to do without telling us 'how.'
So HOW do you glorify God and enjoy Him forever?
The answer to this is in the Dominion Mandate God gave us at the very beginning of the Bible.
You do your part to fill the earth and subdue it (Gen.1:28)... you cultivate and keep your little portion of the world (Gen.2:15).
This is what God designed you to do.
And you'll glorify and enjoy Him most when you're using your time, talents and treasure to accomplish this.
May God give you the grace to do this today.
