About "good works"

Published: Wed, 06/07/17

The phrase "good works" makes some Christians nervous.

It makes them nervous because they're afraid that pursuing good works may lead them -- or others -- to think they can earn their salvation.

But...

The good works the Bible calls us to do aren't good because they give us merit before God.

They're good because God equips us to do them for the sake of others and His kingdom (Eph.2:10).

... And actually doing these works shows you have a faith that's for real (Jas. 2:18ff).
