If someone tells you "You've been owned" it's probably not to
flatter you.
Because this bit of contemporary slang means you've been defeated... and likely in a humiliating fashion.
But if you put a biblical twist on the phrase, it's not so negative...
In fact, it's downright encouraging.
Because... if your faith is in Christ... you indeed
have been owned.
Or... as the Bible puts it... "You've been bought with a price" (1 Cor.6:20)...
Meaning... you now belong to Jesus.
Which gives you the assurance that your life is in His hands...
... As well as the clear calling that you're to live for His
kingdom.
Now that's the way to think about the words "You've been owned."
