"little by little"

Published: Thu, 04/20/17

Are you old enough to remember when you used to have to wait to hear one of your favorite songs on the radio?

You could wait a long time.

Hours.

Or days.

And then... when that song would finally come on... you'd blast it!

Now, with platforms like Spotify, you can hear any song you want... at any time you want.

We've come a long way.

But having everything on demand can have its downside.

It can make you impatient when it comes to the important things in life.

... Like mastering and fulfilling your calling.

Impatience here is not a good thing.

When God charged His people to take the Promised Land, He told them they'd take it "little by little" (Ex. 23:20).

The Promised Land... of course... is a sample of what God intends for the whole world... and the principle of "little by little" still applies.

So, if it seems like progress when it comes to your calling is slow, don't get impatient.

And don't get discouraged.

Stay faithful.

"Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up" (Gal.6:9).
