The Danger of Books

Published: Tue, 04/04/17

I love books.

In fact, for many years the only thing I'd have on my Christmas list were books that I wanted.

But there are dangers with books.

For one, they can serve as an escape... and keep you from doing the good works God has in mind for you.

Devotion to books can also create an air of superiority... causing you to look down upon those you're called to serve.

Without a doubt, books are valuable tools I'd never want to be without.

But as with all tools, they have their purpose... and can be misused to our detriment.

So beware of books.

Use them to inform, enrich, and inspire.

But don't let them puff you up or keep you from the duties God has called you to engage.
