"Keeping your heart"

Published: Fri, 03/31/17

Matt Drudge of the Drudgereport recently tweeted this about Senator Rand Paul:

"He's bold, brave and has somehow kept his heart in such a corrupt city."

The last part of the tweet got my attention...

"... has somehow kept his heart in such a corrupt city."

Washington D.C. is known to devour the principles of those who go there with good intentions.

But it's not the only city where one has to be careful about keeping his heart.

In fact, wherever you go... and whatever you do... you need to guard your heart.

That's why the Book of Proverbs says:

"Watch over your heart with all diligence, for from it flow the springs of life" (Pr. 4:23).

God has given you a purpose in the place He has you... so your efforts would be life-giving to those around you.

But to fulfill that purpose, you must make it a practice to tend to your heart.
