How St. Patrick Transformed Ireland

Published: Fri, 03/17/17

We remember St. Patrick because he transformed Ireland.

But how did he do it?

Well... he didn't keep his faith private.

Instead, he boldly applied the gospel wherever he went... as he lived in union with the triune God.

We can see St. Patrick's dependence on the Lord from a prayer he wrote... known as St. Patrick's Breastplate.

The first portion of the prayer reads:

"I bind unto myself today the strong name of the Trinity. By invocation of the same, the Three in One, the One in Three."

St. Patrick's prayer was later adapted to a song to encourage believers to be faithful in spiritual battle.

And this hymn continues to inspire those who want to be used by God to transform our world today.

Check out the complete song here: St. Patrick's Breastplate

May this prayer/song inspire you as you strive to be true to your own calling in our culture today.
