I've been reading the book of 1
Kings.
And I'm noticing more than ever how much political intrigue and manipulation that's in this portion of scripture.
...Maybe it's just got my attention because of all the talk about the 'deep state' in the news lately!
In case you haven't been following...
The deep state is
the idea that there is deep within the government certain officials who are secretly controlling the policies and direction of the country.
As this plays out, it's sure to have a lasting impact on the U.S. of A.
But the important thing to keep in mind is that there is something that runs much deeper than the deep state...
And that's
God's work of redemption... and the ultimate fulfillment of the dominion mandate.
All through history there's been scheming and double-dealing in government.
... But none of it has ever foiled God's purpose.
Because:
"The LORD has established His throne in the heavens, And His sovereignty rules over all" (Ps.103:19).
So... no matter now many conspiracies or dirty tricks or leaks there might be among the governments of men, God's plan carries on.
And it will continue to be fulfilled until all things are made
new.
And that means you can faithfully carry on with your calling -- without fear -- knowing your toil is not in vain.
