By the time you've hit your 40s you've made your share of
blunders.
And when you get in your 50s you become painfully aware of how big some of those blunders have been!
That's the way it's gone for me, anyway.
But, looking back... I've discovered something that's been helpful...
All my failures are due to ONE
thing.
And that is:
Speaking or acting independently of Christ.
That's right...
Any ugly consequences in my life that I'm responsible for can be traced to that.
When I don't
abide in Christ, fears and selfish desires take over, leading to bad choices and rotten fruit.
But when I abide in Him, my course may not go as I planned or wished, but it's always more fruitful.
I wanted to share this with you for a specific reason...
God's call to dominion is a call to action.
It's a call to DO things.
But...
What we do has to be carried out in union and communion with Christ.
You can't force things.
If we act in our own power and understanding, it ends up going badly.
But if we learn to trust and wait and act in dependence on Him, it bears good fruit.
